Asda Launches First Ever Mid-Sized Jeans
George at Asda has launched a range of jeans which are available in mid sizes 11,13 and 15. The move is in response to the results of a survey which shows that the average size of a British woman is 15 and not 16 as previously thought.
The study surveyed over 10,000 British women and suggests that 62 per cent consider themselves to be an ‘in-between size’ as opposed to the traditional sizes of 8, 10 or 12.
Fiona Lambert, brand director at George says: “One of the most common complaints from our customers is that they are in between sizes – this is back up by our extensive research. We all know there is nothing more unflattering than a pair of jeans that are too tight or loose. We aim to solve this dilemma with our mid-sized jeans – giving George customers great fitting jeans at a great price.”
Asda also found that 42 per cent of the survey’s respondents have between £20 to £49 to spend on jeans a year, with 20 per cent of the country having £19 or less.

Kate Moss Dress One Of Asda’s Top Selling Products Of The Year
A dress worn by former super model Kate Moss, a replica of which was sold by supermarket chain Asda, sold out within hours of going on sale in July, becoming one of the supermarket’s best selling products of the year.

Asda To Stop Carrying Katie Price Lingerie Range
Retailing giant Asda have decided that they will no longer carry Katie Price’s lingerie range.
The retailer says it is listening to its customers and made a decision to cease offering the underwear range.
Glamour model Katie Price, also known as Jordan recently had a much publicised split wit Australian pop star Peter Andre.
A spokeswoman for Asda told International Supermarket News: “We always listen to our customers and they told us they wanted to see something new from us in the George range.”
“It’s true that we are no longer going to be stocking Katie Price’s lingerie range. There’s no hard feelings and we’ve both moved on to new projects. We wish Katie the best of luck in anything she does in the future”
A spokesperson for Katie Price said: “The contract had come to its natural end. We’re in negotiations for a new deal for her lingerie range.”
