"I shopped at ASDA online to buy a Nintendo Wii game that I had been after for a while, and saw that they had up to 80% off special offer running and I ended up buying 8 CD's and a DVD as well - and all for just £70! The best thing is that postage and packing is free and they send each product out individually so you don't have to wait for all the stock to be available to ship before they send out your products. I'd shopped with ASDA before so I could log in and all my details were there including credit card so all I had to do was input my card security number and I was away. The store is really easy to use and the shopping cart was simple to adjust the number of items I had added. All in all a great user experience and (without sounding too cheesy) the prices were great too. Even the non-sale items were cheaper than some of bigger name sites out there."

ASDA Electrical Sign up for the Distributor Take Back Scheme / 15/10/2007
The UK's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations (which took effect from July 2007) states that all producers of household electrical goods are now obliged to pay for recycling of electrical goods. This cost was previously met by councils or, more worryingly items were not recycled at all. The ASDA electrical's department has signed up to these regulations and will actively promote a UK wide WEEE collection infrastructure which will help to encourage consumers to recycling electronic equipment.

Double 'Green' Bubble for ASDA / 11/10/2007
It has been a fantastic week for retail giants ASDA who have further enhanced their 'green' reputation by scooping not one but two prestigious awards. The first accolade is for 'Multiple Environmental Retailer of the Year' which they have beaten off competition from other large multiples such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Somerfield at the recent Retail Industry Awards. Shortly after claiming this award they were then announced as 'Most Environmentally Friendly Retailer' at the recent People In Retail awards ceremony on October 3rd. Asda claim to have a green heritage which stretches back to pre-carbon neutral days when ADSA founder Archie Norman coined the phrase 'We hate waste of any kind'. This is a fantastic achievement for ASDA and a great example for other retail businesses to look at their own impact on the environment. For this reason, we will be presenting ASDA with a third award (albeit somewhat less prestigious!) this week by including them on our ‘Green List’ on one of our sister sites Donation4Charity which recognises and supports business achievement, effort and awareness of green issues. Well done ASDA, keep up the good work!
